Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Here is every kind we use and what it is for.

The ones we can't do without

These keep you signed in, remember which account you are acting as, and hold the page you were heading to while you sign in. Without them Purpose cannot work.

The ones that remember your preferences

Your text size, the topics you follow and the filters you last used, so you don't have to set them again each visit.

The ones that count visits

We count how many people open a page, so we know which parts of Purpose are useful. These are optional and you can turn them off in your settings.

Turning them off

Your browser can block cookies for any site. If you block the essential ones, signing in will not work — that is the browser, not a fault with your account.
